1931. Germany. Directed by Alexis Granowsky. Screenplay by Victor Trivas, H. Lechner. With Margot Ferra, Elsa Wagner, Aribert Mog, Wilhelm Liepmann. Originally banned and then heavily censored, this paean to personal freedom, sex, and childbirth is like nothing else in cinema.
