The fantasy/fake/true/science-fiction/candy-coated/stripped-bare/all-lies/documentary history of the Dirt Palace
Celebrate WACK! Art and the Feminist Revolution with PopRally and the all-female Providence-based art collective Dirt Palace. Song, dance, costumes, projections, and puppets all come together in this deceptively sweet yet completely unruly evening, a raucous performance piece that tells the twisted tale of Dirt Palace's history. It's a story of intrigue and fancy born from the collective's unique mix of sugar and spice and everything not-so-nice.
Join us before the performance for a private viewing of WACK! Art and the Feminist Revolution. Afterwards, stick around for a party in the performance space, featuring DJs Mery-Def, Ivanna b, and Jazzy-Jexxx. Please be advised: The performance features strobe lights and a smoke machine.
PopRally is a series of events at MoMA and MoMA PS1 that serve as a gateway for young and diverse audiences to engage with the Museum. Led by a cross-departmental committee of Museum staff, PopRally produces dynamic programs including artist collaborations, performances, film screenings, and digital content that encourage new and experimental ways of engaging with modern and contemporary art.
Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door. Tickets are available in advance online and at MoMA's information and Film desks, and on the night of the performance at P.S.1. Tickets are subject to availability.
Guests receive a limited-edition zine created by the Dirt Palace.
You must be twenty-one or older to attend this event.
