PopRally is a series of events at MoMA and MoMA PS1 that serve as a gateway for young and diverse audiences to engage with the Museum. Led by a cross-departmental committee of Museum staff, PopRally produces dynamic programs including artist collaborations, performances, film screenings, and digital content that encourage new and experimental ways of engaging with modern and contemporary art.
Join PopRally for a special free preview screening of Joachim Trier’s Reprise, an official selection of both the 2007 New Directors/New Films festival and the Sundance Film Festival, and winner of the Best Director award at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival and the Discovery Award at the Toronto Film Festival.
Trier’s fast-moving story kicks off just as Phillip (Anders Danielsen Lie) and Erik (Espen Klouman-Hoiner) stand at the mailbox—each is about to ship off his first novel to publishers, hoping to become a "cult author"; each has visions of a new life of nonstop intensity, brilliance, and romance. Nimbly moving backwards and forwards in time, the film traces how Erik and Phillip arrived at this precipice—where exuberant youth runs into the harsh light of day—and witnesses the emotionally gripping aftermath.
PopRally would like to thank Miramax Films for their support for this event.
