PopRally is a series of events at MoMA and MoMA PS1 that serve as a gateway for young and diverse audiences to engage with the Museum. Led by a cross-departmental committee of Museum staff, PopRally produces dynamic programs including artist collaborations, performances, film screenings, and digital content that encourage new and experimental ways of engaging with modern and contemporary art.
Join PopRally for a special preview screening of writer/director Noah Baumbach's highly anticipated new film Margot at the Wedding, starring Nicole Kidman, Jack Black, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Afterwards, MoMA's Chief Curator of Film, Rajendra Roy, leads a discussion and audience Q & A with Noah Baumbach and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
Margot Zeller (Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman), a savagely razor-tongued short-story writer, sets off on a surprise journey with her son Claude (Zane Pais), to the wedding of her estranged and free-spirited sister Pauline (Golden Globe nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh) to an unemployed artist Malcolm (Jack Black).
The film is a daringly funny and bracingly honest exploration of the tender, absurd, and sometimes excruciating relationship between siblings and the fallout for those in their wake: children, husbands, lovers.
After party to follow at 205 Club (205 Chrystie at Stanton).
PopRally would like to thank Paramount Vantage for their support for this event.
