Swarmings at Mildred's Lane and the Mildred Complex(ity) at MoMA Studio: Athena Kokoronis
Wednesday, October 3, 2012, 12:30 p.m.
The Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building, Mezzanine
These frequent visits by collaborating artists, writers, and critics at Mildred's Lane invite the public to participate in collective tasks and discussions, from hosting food-related events to explorations of creative processes related to the visual arts, writing, biology, and more.
Athena Kokoronis, a former Digestion Choreographer at Mildred’s Lane, will bring a series of choice edibles from Mildred’s Lane, where she has been house sitting. She has been spending her days hunting for mushrooms. Unlike foraging or gathering, hunting involves a component of chance and the unknown. She will bring what she finds in the woods of Mildred's Lane to the MoMA Studio for identification, along with a short presentation about the mushrooms that she has found through the years on the Lane. If edible mushrooms are found, a sampling will be offered to guests and attendants.
In conjunction with the exhibition MoMA Studio: Common Senses
These events are free and participation is on a first-come first-served basis.
