In 2003, the Photographic Archive became a part
of the Museum Archives’ holdings. The Photographic Archive
documents and maintains the visual history of the Museum. It houses
installation views of past exhibitions, images of the Museum’s
buildings and grounds, and artists and personalities associated
with the Museum. It also holds photographic reproductions of works
of art in the Museum’s collections previously used for reproduction
purposes. Since 2002, reproductions of collection objects have been
captured digitally and are now maintained by the Department of Imaging
Services.
