Meta-Monumental Pre-Game
Thursday, September 6, 2012
8:30 P.M.–11:30 P.M.
MoMA

This November, Martha Rosler has her first solo exhibition at The Museum of Modern Art, and PopRally wants you to get in on the action by donating items, from beloved knickknacks to no-longer-used odds and ends.

Rosler’s upcoming Meta-Monumental Garage Sale is a large-scale version of the classic American garage sale where Museum visitors can browse and buy second-hand goods that have been organized and displayed by the artist. The installation will fill MoMA’s Donald B. and Catherine C. Marron Atrium with strange and everyday objects donated by the artist, MoMA staff, and the general public, creating a lively space for exchange between Rosler and her customers as they haggle over prices.

Join PopRally for a Meta-Monumental Pre-Game, and donate your own items to be incorporated into the exhibition! After saying goodbye to your goods, enjoy an evening of drinks, garage-inspired games, and a performance by The Postelles with music by DJ Diggy Lloyd.

In honor of Fashion’s Night Out, you’ll also have access to a special screening of Rosler’s work Martha Rosler Reads Vogue (1983), and if you contribute to the exhibition you will receive a 20% discount* at the MoMA Store throughout the evening!

*Offer may not be combined with any other discounts

PopRally is supported in part by The Friends of Education of The Museum of Modern Art.

Special Thanks to Sud de France Wines: Château de Jau, Arrogant Frog, Domaine de Venus, Jean de Roze and Vignobles Gilles Louvet. Beer for this event has been provided by Brooklyn Brewery.
