| An Evening with Blondes Saturday, January 21, 2012 8:30 P.M.–11:30 p.m. MoMA |
PopRally is thrilled to kick off 2012 with an evening of transcendent electronic dance music, courtesy of Blondes. Join us for a night of immersive music, light, and sound, including a sound installation and live performance by Blondes and a DJ set by Juan MacLean. Blondes—the Brooklyn-based duo of Zach Steinman and Sam Haar—create ecstatic, semi-improvisational dance music using live electronics. They harness hypnotic, pulsing minimal chords, layering textured sounds over house rhythms to produce a vein of dance music that is, truly, its own beast. Visitors will also have the exclusive opportunity to view the exhibitions Contemporary Art from the Collection, 1980–Now; Harun Farocki: Images of War (at a Distance); Sanja Iveković: Sweet Violence; and Projects 96: Haris Epaminonda. The performance begins at 9:30. Admission includes an exclusive exhibition viewing and cocktails. Come dressed to impress and ready to DANCE! Apply the value of your PopRally ticket toward a MoMA membership! Sign up at the event to redeem this offer. PopRally is supported in part by The Friends of Education of The Museum of Modern Art. Special thanks to Sud de France Wines: Château de Jau, Les Jamelles Domaines Paul Mas, and Jules. Beer for this event has been provided by Brooklyn Brewery. Image courtesy Zach Steinman |
