| PopRally P.S.1 Summer Preview Wednesday, June 20, 2007 7:00–10:00 p.m. P.S.1 Contemporary Arts Center |
Join PopRally on June 20 for a special preview of summer at P.S.1. Come check the exhibitions Organizing Chaos, Tunga, Dorota Jurczak and Abel Auer, and Jack Whitten, and get a sneak preview of the 2007 Young Architects Program installation, Liquid Sky. Get a taste of Warm Up with music from Warm Up co-curator Jason Drummond. The evening will also feature a performance by Lorenzo de Los Angeles III, in collaboration with National Projects artist Adam Putnam. For PopRally, the two will present the third installment of The Meltyblend Oculus, a light show in the vein of the psychedelic experiments that took place at the famed Fillmore East in San Francisco. Cutouts, transparencies, colored oil, video feedback loops, and magic-lantern slides, all collide in one presentation set to music in the P.S.1 courtyard. This low-tech synesthetic escapade promises to get everyone in the mood for summer. PopRally would like to thank Blue Point Brewing Co., Lagunitas Brewing Co., Magic Hat Brewing Co., Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., and Original Sin Hard Cider for their sponsorship.
