PopRally is delighted to present an exclusive screening of the film The Great World of Sound from the New Directors/New Films festival.

Introduction by director Craig Zobel, with a reception to follow the screening featuring an acoustic performance by Ola Podrida.

The Great World of Sound
For his feature film debut, Craig Zobel shines a harsh light on the upside-and the downside-of looking for shortcuts to fame. Martin and Clarence are a production company's A-team, setting up shop in hotel rooms in large towns and medium-sized cities to audition local musicians for a shot at the gold ring. Both men seem to believe that they're supporting new talent, until problems arise. Many of the actors playing auditioning townspeople are actual amateur musicians, and their performances add a touching poignancy.

New Directors/New Films
Now in its thirty-sixth year, the renowned New Directors/New Films festival, presented jointly by The Film Society of Lincoln Center and The Museum of Modern Art, introduces New York audiences to the work of emerging or not-yet-established filmmakers from around the world. All of the films in New Directors/New Films are having either their New York, U.S., or North American premieres.

PopRally would like to thank Fred and Stella Artois for their sponsorship.
