Internet artist Lialina |
OLIA LIALINA is a rare new breed, an Internet artist. Her works explore and exploit the unique nature of the net. |
| In the work Agatha Appears (1998), Lialina teleports Agatha at the speed of light from server to server, a total of thirteen computers placed strategically around the world. | The trip satisfies Agatha's wanderlust, but she does not settle for a grounded suburban life. The digital woman jiggles her zeroes and ones, and another adventure begins. |
|
Will Teleportacia |
Teleportacia, which translates as "teleportation," is Lialina's net presence. Will Teleportacia is the entity's last will and testament. |
| Time has no direction on the net. Net life can begin with birth, or with probate. | |
