  • While Paris Sleeps

1932. USA. Directed by Allan Dwan. With Victor McLaglen, Helen Mack, William Bakewell, Jack La Rue. Dwan, like other Fox directors of the period (Ford, Borzage, Walsh), could not escape the influence of the great German director F. W. Murnau, who filmed Sunrise at the studio in 1927. Here, Dwan’s direction is very reminiscent of Murnau’s style of lighting with lots of camera movement. This is another of Dwan’s paternity-themed films, as McLaglen searches for his lost daughter. 61 min.
