    1953. USA. Directed by Vincente Minnelli. With Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse, Oscar Levant, Nanette Fabray. This is in many ways the culmination of the backstage musical cycle that came in with the talkies. Astaire, now in his mid-50s, and Minnelli, at the top of his form, work together like a pair of comfortable old shoes. 112 min.
