As a process, design thinking can be applied to a broad range of challenges and opportunities, from curriculum and lesson development to the redesign of physical classroom spaces. Through the principles of the design process, teachers (grades 6–12) will be introduced to the tools and strategies of design thinking as both a method for approaching classroom instruction and a process that can inspire students to think creatively as they approach problems and challenges in their everyday lives. Teachers will be actively engaged through hands-on activities and working collaboratively with others. We will end the day with a discussion about integration and connection to classroom content and practice.
