What do you hope visitors gain from their physical and sensory experience of your installations?

Olafur Eliasson: "The installations are experimental setups and I hope visitors feel this. If the artworks make you think about what you see and how you see it, I think I've achieved something. And you can bring this with you outside the museum as well: How do you see yourself seeing New York?

I don't think your experience of my installations is different from that of paintings or sculptures. The Impressionists and the Pointillists also worked a lot with the gaze of the viewer and her movement in front of the work. They made clear that our perspective matters; it makes us co-produce what we see. "
