Before this summer I didn't know much about Film but
now I know what a foley artist is and how they are an
important part to a movie production, different angles,
how to work a camera, jump cuts, location switcheroonie
etc. I've always been exposed to art thanks to my mother,
because she is a former Graphic Designer and a graduate
of Pratt Institute. My mother had my brother and me
in various art museums, classes and internships. So,
this summer being apart of MoMA: Film In the Making
I was able to put my questions and wonders about film
at ease. Now I've gotten a better understanding and
have had a chance to experience film production. Many
people my age don't get these chances like I have to
be a part of a class here at MoMA. My goals as an artist
are to be able to know and get used to all artistic
media and to have a hands on experience with art. I'm
passionate about a variety of art: ceramics, painting,
film & video, sculpting, graphic designing, photography,
etc. It gives me a good feeling that I have been given
the chance to experience such things. At least, now
I understand various artistic practices and can apply
them to my every day activities in a way that I can
return to in the future. In my art I'm trying to convey
to my viewer that even the littlest of things can be
extraordinary to anyone; you can find beauty in anyone's
piece of art: any and everything can be considered art.
