My whole Life has basically been based on things that
I can do to over come hard obstacles. I've had to deal
with many difficult things in my life but one of the
most challenging has been fear. As a kid I wasn't really
scared of anything but, as I grew older I noticed how
dangerous things were around us and the smallest things
would scare me. Now as a teenager I still notice that
everyday things still freak me out. Most of the things
that scared me though were things that had a hidden
meaning like certain songs or certain ways of thinking.
For my project I chose fear because I believe that fear
is something we as New Yorkers have to deal with every
day. Of course I put my own spin on it and made it so
people can see what fear is through my eyes. For me
words are a very powerful part of my work and something
that you will see me use in almost every piece I make.
Photography was also something I was always interested
in so there will be many pictures in my work. My fear
piece has ever-single type of material (magazines, photos,
tape, paint, ink, white-out) so u can experience my
type of fear through every kind of perspective. As an
artist I feel that I am very deep. Poetry has affected
my art greatly and so have experiences and mistakes.
You will see in my art a huge reflection of self and
hopefully you will be able to see it the way I see it.
This fear project was something that I was very interested
in and something that relates to my style a lot. Fear
is important and shouldn't be forgotten.
