One of the earliest things I can remember making a
choice about was that I wanted to be an artist. There
was no question about it, and there was no doubt in
my mind that I would succeed in such a profession. Of
course since then, Iʼve realized that a lot of other
people want to be artists too, and that becoming an
artist was going to be a lot tougher than what I had
originally thought in kindergarten. Since then Iʼve
also made conscious decisions on what I wanted my art
to mean, and that it shouldnʼt just be me having fun
cartooning on scrap paper. With the recent years of
so much happening with the U.S. and the world, and with
so many people completely ignorant of it all, I hope
that my art may inform people and maybe cause them to
take action. I hoped to achieve this in my stencil piece,
which is obviously political, and mostly speaks for
itself.
Students reflect on what they’ve learned, review films, critique
architecture, and interview artists.
