Hey I'm Kat, and I don't explain my art. I prefer every
individual to find their own meaning in it. However,
a necessity has occurred and I will describe my work
in a very broad detail.
It shows pain in a secretive way. It hides the emotions
which are meant to be portrayed and instead covers them
up with stereotypical joyful things. The point is to
look deeper then the bright colors and see the true
meaning.
My art originates from many inspirations. My grandmother
being a main flame in this fire. She is an artist herself,
her paintings surround my bedroom and each morning as
I wake up they are my morning greeting. I believe that
her greatest talent in art is the use of color in her
work. Each painting in my room brings back wonderful
memories which I will always cherish.
Edvard Munch is another muse in my art. His work is
incredibly exquisite. I tend to interpret many of his
elements in my art, however in my own new way which
may not be visible to anyone but myself.
Another main point in my art is photography. The act
of capturing a moment of your choice to be visible long
after the time has passed fascinates me, as does capturing
that same exact moment within such an angle that it
will seem different as well as display your signature
aspect in that photograph. If a photograph may be considered
a medium I would definitely label it my favorite.
Simply unlock your imagination and let it run wild,
only then you will find your own meaning in my art.
