Photography; There Are Faces In All Her Images About Lartigue
THE adjective "objective" has frequently been applied to the photographs of Bere nice Abbott, an adjective which, in this deceptively subjective medium, is rarely applied correctly. In her case, it fits perfectly, as can be discerned by even a cursory perusal of her current 63print retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art (through Feb. 28), or of the just-published monograph, "Berenice Abbott: Photographs" (Horizon Press, $20, hardbound, $6.95 paperback).
