Techniques & Materials / Sheet Music
Printed sheet music, evoking the music halls and cabarets of modern Paris, supplied ready-made areas of surface patterning for the artist's collages. Cut fragments of "Sonnet," a sentimental song first popular in the French capital around the turn of the twentieth century, were pasted into several works now hanging in this exhibition.
