Poet-musician Richard Hell galvanized the emerging punk movement, defining its look and sound with his unique torn shirt and direct style. A founding member of both Television and The Heartbreakers, he went on to form The Voidoids in 1977. The song “Blank Generation” served as an anthem for the punk movement.
