Richard Hell and The Voidoids
Formed in New York City in 1973, Television was an integral part of the early punk-rock scene. The group’s music retained the raw energy of garage rock, with the addition of complex, lyrical solo lines. Its angular rhythms and fluid leads were defined by the dueling guitars of Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd.
