Ono, an artist and musician, has orchestrated her footage of John Lennon, then her partner, in slow motion, exploring portraiture and the materiality of time. Grapefruit consists of short, instructional “pieces” from the early 1960s, while Fly, a later work, expands beyond book format and into a box filled with acorns, rocks, and text printed on small pieces of tissue paper.
