Joan Jonas conceived of Mirage in 1976 as a performance for the screening room of New York’s Anthology Film Archives. In it she carried out a series of movements, including percussive running and drawing, while interacting with a variety of sculptural components, films, and videos. Here the artist has once more reimagined Mirage in a new installation. View installation images and watch video interview segments with the artist.
