Xie Fei’s Song of Tibet
December 6–7, 2006

Shot in Tibet with a Tibetan cast, Song of Tibet, about a woman and the three men in her life, is a sweeping multigenerational epic played out against the chaos of a society in turmoil. Direc-tor Xie Fei was a teacher to many Fifth Generation Chinese filmmakers, including Chen Kaige and Tian Zhuangzhuang.

Organized by Laurence Kardish, Senior Curator, Department of Film. Presented in collaboration with the AMS Foundation for the Arts, Sciences and Humanities, and the China International Culture Exchange Center (CICEC).
