April 7, 2003

The Department of Film and Media, in association with Karel Reisz’s family and friends, pays tribute to the distinguished director, who died in November of 2002. Although Reisz was born in Czechoslovakia, his films were mostly made in Great Britain and the United States. Among his best-known works are Morgan! (1966), Isadora (1968), and The French Lieutenant’s Woman (1981). The evening will include a screening of a restored print of Reisz’s first feature, Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (1960). Hosted by playwright John Guare, and presented with Reisz’s family and friends in attendance.

Organized by Charles Silver, Associate Curator, Research and Collections, Department of Film and Media.
