Transmitted light image of Pissarro's Kitchen Garden, Trees in Flower, Spring, Pontoise (1877). The light, shining from behind the canvas, shows through the very thinly painted edges of the forms, showing how Pissarro built the paint around these edges, "reserving" these outlines.
