MoMA QNS Video Installations
Ongoing

The Department of Film and Media presents an ongoing series of projected works in the MoMA QNS lobby. The current cycle includes four performance-based works. Coming Up for Air by Carrie Mae Weems (2003) depicts a young girl's slow dance. Selected Works (1995–2002) by John Wood and Paul Harrison are humorous short-action videos that combine simple laws of gravity and physics. Paint on Trucks in a World in Need of Love (2001–02) by David Ellis (of the Barnstormers) is a live animation of the artist painting a truck in a graffiti-inspired style. Moby Dick (1999) by Guy Ben-Ner is a re-enactment of the story of Moby Dick by the artist and his daughter, made in their home kitchen using household props and low-tech visual effects.

Organized by the Department of Film and Media.
