If you have
a sufficient number of computers in the classroom, students can
work in small groups, in pairs, or individually. Here are two options
for the classroom:
- Collectively use the
Guide to foster classroom conversation. Conversation can be extended
by using the Additional Questions.
Have your students work
in small groups. Either you or the students can select a spokesperson
from each group to present their group's responses, ideas, and further
questions. These mini-presentations can be followed by a larger
classroom conversation facilitated by the Core and Additional Questions.

If you are
using the printed version of the teacher guide, you may want to
keep the following in mind when setting up the room:
- Test your slide projector
in advance to make sure it is working. You may need an extension
cord.
- If you do not have
a slide screen, white paper or a plain white wall will suffice.
- Make sure that the
projected image is visible to all students.
- Check to see if the
slide is oriented properly (red/black dot should appear on the
upper right hand corner, facing away from the screen when placed
in the carousel).
