Marie Schiele, the artist's mother (Estate of Egon Schiele), 1918; bequeathed to Gertrude ("Gerti") Peschka-Schiele, the artist's sister, Vienna, 1935 [1]. Sold to Serge Sabarsky (1912-1996), New York; acquired by The Museum of Modern Art, New York, 1985 (Gift of Jo Carole and Ronald S. Lauder).
