Spontaneously generated at an Atlantic City nightclub in 1946, the comedy team of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis took postwar America by storm. For a country exhausted by four years of sacrifice and discipline, the raging anarchy of the comic duo, as they extended their empire to radio, television, and the movies, represented a sense of fun and freedom regained. Assembled from rare film clips, home movies, and kinescopes, this program recaptures the excitement, unpredictability, and audacity of the unlikely partners at the beginning of their 10-year association.
