What new object will we need 10 years from now? Discover the practice of “Design Fiction” in this hands-on workshop. Kids and caregivers will work together to playfully imagine and build a prototype of an object that someone might use in the future. Participants will visit the exhibition Pirouette: Turning Points in Design to see a selection of objects that have transformed the world with new materials, technologies, and concepts.
Please note that sessions are divided by age group.
February 8 session: Only kids ages 10 through 14 will be permitted to attend. Kids and adults participate.
February 23 session: Only kids ages six through nine will be permitted to attend. Kids and adults participate.
Members can check in at the Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building, located at 4 West 54th Street, near Fifth Avenue. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the workshop.
