THE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART'S JUNIOR ASSOCIATES HOSTS ITS FOURTH ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS-GALA AT MOMA

WHERE
The Museum of Modern Art, 11 West 53 Street

WHEN
Sunday, March 21, beginning at 8:00 p.m.

WHAT
MoMA's Junior Associates will host its FOURTH ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS® Gala and live broadcast of the Awards Ceremony.

The event will take place in the Museum's restaurants, Sette MoMA and the Garden Café, in which large viewing screens and dozens of television monitors have been installed. Guests will arrive at the main entrance of the Museum at 11 West 53 Street and follow the red carpet to the restaurants, where they will celebrate the evening with champagne, cocktails, and savories. The evening's movie-theme atmosphere will be enhanced with ballots, prizes, movie candy, and popcorn. Guests will cast their votes, and the winners will receive a variety of special prizes.

Proceeds from the gala event will be donated to MoMA's Department of Film and Video. The Academy Awards¤ at MoMA celebrates the Museum's pioneering recognition of the motion picture as an art form. Since its founding in 1935, the Museum's Department of Film and Video has assembled the strongest international film collection in the United States, and remains committed to collecting the best in current as well as historical film. In recognition of its work, the Department of Film and Video received an Academy Award in 1979.

The Academy Awards® at MoMA has been a spectacular success in the past three years, hosting over 800 guests annually, including many of the more than 500 members of the Junior Associates, their friends, and a number of celebrities. Established in 1990, this dynamic young group supports and participates in Museum contemporary art programs by organizing a variety of ongoing activities and events.
