The Museum of Modern Art offers a series of print workshops for children ages
five to twelve and their adult friends on four afternoons in July and August,
beginning Thursday, July 18, 1996. This season's programs, entitled Print It
Out!, will be held in conjunction with the exhibition Thinking Print: Books
to Billboards, 1980–95 (June 20–September 10, 1996). Continuing Tuesdays, July
23, July 30, and August 6, the four family workshops introduce children and
their adult companions to the art of printmaking. Participants explore prints
in the exhibition and take a behind-the-scenes look at works in the Print Study
Center. Following the discussion, children and adults create their own prints
in a studio workshop.
The programs are led by the Museum's education and curatorial staff. Workshops
are free with Museum admission on a first-come, first-served basis. No
preregistration is required. Sign in at 1:45 at The Edward John Noble Education
Center on the main floor. The same workshop is repeated each session. For
further information, call the Department of Education at 212/708–9795.
