MOMA'S "PARTY IN THE GARDEN" SALUTES PHILIP JOHNSON AS HE TURNS 90

WHAT
The Party in the Garden. The annual MoMA gala that marks the beginning of the summer season is dedicated this year to architect Philip Johnson as he turns 90. For seven decades, Mr. Johnson has been a steadfast supporter of the Museum, serving at various times as a curator, patron, architect, and Trustee.

The party features savories, sweets, champagne, and dancing under the stars in MoMA's world-renowned Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden, which was designed by Mr. Johnson in 1953.

WHEN Wednesday, June 5, 1996, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Prior to the party, Benefactors, Patrons, Sponsors, Supporters, Contributors, and Friends of the Garden will have cocktails at 7:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 8:00.

MUSIC Special performance by Black Box, featuring Charvoni, at 11 p.m. This is the first time a live performance by a club band is featured at The Party in the Garden. Tom Finn of Top Spin Entertainment will spin the discs.

DRESS Black tie and festive dress

FOOD Glorious Food. Wine, champagne, and spirits are donated by Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, Ltd.

TICKET PRICE: RECEPTION AND DINNER
Benefactor, $25,000 (table of ten); Patron, $15,000 (table of ten); Sponsor, $10,000 (table of ten); Supporter, $2,500 per person; Contributor, $1,000 per person; Friend, $500 per person (limited number available). PARTY TICKETS Fellow, $150 each, $165 at the door; Junior tickets (for persons 30 and under), $100 each, $115 at the door.
