THE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART SCHEDULES NATIONAL TOUR OF CHUCK CLOSE EXHIBITION
The Museum of Modern Art has scheduled a national tour of Chuck Close, the exhibition on view at MoMA from February 26 to May 26, 1998, as follows:
Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago
June 20 to September 13, 1998
Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C.
October 15, 1998 to January 10, 1999
Seattle Art Museum
February to May 1999
Organized by Robert Storr, Curator, Department of Painting and Sculpture, The Museum of Modern Art, the retrospective exhibition features the monumental, psychologically charged portraits of anonymous sitters and distinguished fellow artists for which Close is best known. It includes some 80 paintings, drawings, prints, and photographs from all phases of the artist's career.
