Lou Fernandes joined MoMA in 2023 as Chief Investment Officer. He oversees the Museum’s endowment, pension, and retirement plan. Prior to joining the Museum, he was Managing Director of Investments at New York University and, prior to that, at Hall Capital Partners, in San Francisco. He is a CFA charterholder, and holds an MBA and an MA in education from Stanford University and a BS from the University of California, Davis. He is a trustee for the UC Davis Foundation and serves on the investment committee for Bates College. He brings to MoMA more than two decades of finance and investment experience, including expertise in building teams, constructing and managing investment portfolios, and partnering with managers across asset classes.
